SCED to attend WTO Informal Ministerial Gathering in Switzerland

     The Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Gregory So, will depart for Davos, Switzerland, tomorrow (January 20) to attend the World Trade Organization (WTO) Informal Ministerial Gathering to be held on the same day.

     With the 11th WTO Ministerial Conference (MC11) taking place in Buenos Aires, Argentina in December this year, the gathering will offer an opportunity for Ministers to have focused discussions on possible deliverables at MC11 and on how to accelerate convergence.

     Mr So will return to Hong Kong on January 21. The Under Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Godfrey Leung, will be the Acting Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development during Mr So's absence.
