ExCo Non-official Member speaks on Policy Address

Following is a transcript of remarks by the Convenor of the Non-official Members of the Executive Council (ExCo), Mr Lam Woon-kwong, at a media session on the 2017 Policy Address in the Legislative Council Complex this afternoon (January 18):
Reporter: Mr Lam, do you think developing the periphery of country parks is actually a good idea?
Convenor of ExCo Non-official Members: It's got to be looked at holistically because it (the Policy Address) also got this very imaginative idea, of actually strengthening the protection of the valuable rural areas, revitalising the agricultural areas, and at the same time think of the less useful areas in the huge country parks and release them for the much-needed housing (development). I think that's an idea very much worth the community's deep consideration and hopefully a consensus in the end.
