Approved Sha Tin Outline Zoning Plan amended

     The Town Planning Board today (January 13) announced amendments to the approved Sha Tin Outline Zoning Plan (OZP).
     
     The amendments mainly involve the rezoning of a site at A Kung Kok from "Green Belt" ("GB") to "Green Belt (1)" and two pieces of adjacent land from "GB" to "Other Specified Uses" annotated "Sewage Treatment Works" for the proposed relocation of Sha Tin Sewage Treatment Works to caverns; three pieces of government land at On Hing Lane, Shek Mun, from "Industrial", "GB" and "Other Specified Uses" annotated "Refuse Transfer Station" to "Other Specified Uses" annotated "Columbarium and Garden of Remembrance" for the development of a proposed public columbarium and garden of remembrance; the Olympic Stables from "Government, Institution or Community" to "Other Specified Uses" annotated "Race Course" to reflect the current use and function of the site; and a site at On Muk Street, Shek Mun, from "Open Space" to "Residential (Group A)6" for the proposed public housing development with stipulation of development restrictions. Opportunity is also taken to amend the Notes and the Explanatory Statement of the OZP to reflect the above amendments and to update the general information of various land use zonings and the planning area, where appropriate.
     
     The draft Sha Tin OZP No. S/ST/33 incorporating the amendments is now available for public inspection during office hours at the Secretariat of the Board; the Planning Enquiry Counters of the Planning Department in North Point and Sha Tin; the Sha Tin, Tai Po and North District Planning Office; the Sha Tin District Office; and the Sha Tin Rural Committee.
     
     Any person can make written representation in respect of the amendments to the Secretary of the Board on or before March 13, 2017. Representations made to the Board will be available for public inspection.
     
     Copies of the draft Sha Tin OZP are available for sale at the Map Publications Centres in North Point and Yau Ma Tei. The electronic version of the OZP can be viewed at the Board's website (www.info.gov.hk/tpb).
