Hong Kong Customs seizes suspected ketamine (with photo)

     Hong Kong Customs today (December 30) seized about 5.6 kilograms of suspected ketamine with an estimated market value of about $1.5 million at Shenzhen Bay Control Point.

     Customs officers intercepted an inbound private vehicle for examination at Shenzhen Bay Control Point this morning and found about 5.6 kg of suspected ketamine concealed inside a tool compartment. The 45-year-old male driver was arrested. Investigation is ongoing.

     Under the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, trafficking in a dangerous drug is a serious offence.  The maximum penalty upon conviction is a fine of $5 million and life imprisonment.
