Police appeal for information on fatal traffic accident in Tseung Kwan O

At about 9.18am on that day, a medium goods vehicle driven by a 61-year-old man was travelling along Tsui Lam Road towards Po Lam Road. When approaching Nga Lam House of Tsui Lam Estate, it reportedly knocked down the 86-year-old woman who was crossing the road.
Sustaining serious head injuries, the woman was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in unconscious state. She was certified dead at 11.52pm on December 25.
The driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm after the accident. He has been released on bail pending further enquiries and is required to report back to Police in mid-January 2017.
Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon East is underway.
