Roving fun days keep "Storm the Park" campaign rolling (with photos)
********************************************************************
The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) will hold two roving fun day programmes, namely "Orienteering@Park" and "Fitness@Park", in January and February next year to offer two thematic elements in parks across the territory.

The roving fun days are the second series of events under the "Storm the Park" campaign. The first "Storm the Park" event, "Frisbee Day", was held in Jordan Valley Park in Kwun Tong District on December 11, attracting more than 200 people to enjoy the fun of playing with frisbees.

The "Orienteering@Park" fun days will be staged at the Sham Shui Po, North, Kowloon City, Yau Tsim Mong, Tsuen Wan and Sai Kung districts. With the help of the Orienteering Association of Hong Kong, participants can take part in training, games and competitions to learn more about various trees, flowers and plants in different parks through orienteering.

In the "Fitness@Park" fun days, members of the public can make use of venue facilities for physical fitness activities and receive free guidance from the Physical Fitness Association of Hong Kong, China. Some of the activities are suitable for families as parent-child interactive programmes, while some cater for different targets, such as youngsters or the elderly. Districts holding "Fitness@Park" fun days will be Eastern, Kwai Tsing, Sha Tin, Wong Tai Sin, Central and Western, and Yuen Long.

The "Orienteering@Park" and "Fitness@Park" roving fun days will be held in 12 different parks under the LCSD in the above districts on selected weekends between January 1 and February 26, 2017. Admission is free. People of all ages are welcome.

People who are interested in participating in "Orienteering@Park" can enrol in person at the District Leisure Services Office or any recreation and sports venue with Leisure Link Services in the respective district, or enrol on the spot.

"Fitness@Park" is a walk-in activity and pre-registration is not required.
