     Guide dogs are specially trained to lead the visually impaired. In Hong Kong, guide dog supply has long been dependent on foreign donation.

     Hong Kong Seeing Eye Dog Services is committed to sustaining the local guide dog supply. It has bred two litters of guide dog puppies this year.

     With more guide dogs being bred locally, the organisation is recruiting more families to volunteer as puppy walkers so more visually impaired people get the assistance they need.

     News.gov.hk interviewed a foster family and a trainer to see how they prepare a puppy for life as a guide dog.
