CSSA caseload for November

     The overall Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) caseload in November showed a drop of 1 178 cases, representing a decrease of 0.5 per cent compared with that of October, according to the latest CSSA caseload statistics released by the Social Welfare Department today (December 21).

     The total CSSA caseload at the end of November stood at 237 658 (see attached table), with a total of 349 696 recipients.

     Analysed by case nature, unemployment cases registered a month-to-month decrease of 2.5 per cent to 14 448 cases, while low-earnings cases and single parent cases dropped by 1.9 per cent and 0.6 per cent to 5 299 cases and 27 149 cases respectively. Permanent disability cases and old age cases both showed a decrease of 0.3 per cent to 17 586 cases and 144 499 cases respectively. Ill health cases dropped by 0.1 per cent to 24 302 cases.
