CE responds to media enquiries on Leung Kwok-hung's remarks
***********************************************************
Mr Leung Kwok-hung told the media this morning (December 6) that if the Financial Secretary, Mr John C Tsang, needs to seek advice from the Department of Justice, he would have first consulted the Chief Executive and it was unreasonable that government officials have to interpret on their own.

With regards to Mr Leung's remarks, the Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, reiterated what he has told the media this morning before the Executive Council meeting. He said that he had no prior knowledge of Mr Tsang seeking legal advice and his decision of not answering questions raised by the four Legislative Council (LegCo) members at LegCo, or else he would have discussed the matter within the Government. As such, there is no need for government officials to "interpret on their own".
