SCMA visits Tuen Mun (with photos)

     The Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs, Mr Raymond Tam, today (December 6) visited Tuen Mun to exchange views with local representatives and to see the latest developments of the district.
 
     During the visit, Mr Tam met with representatives of the Tuen Mun District Council (DC) to learn more about issues relating to the district. He also briefed the DC members on the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government's support for Hong Kong people and enterprises in the Mainland, as well as the business opportunities brought about by the Belt and Road Initiative for Hong Kong companies.
 
     Mr Tam also visited T-PARK, the first self-sustained sludge treatment facility in Hong Kong. Touring the Environmental Education Centre, he was briefed on T-PARK's sludge incineration technology and its waste-to-energy approach in waste management.
 
     Noting that environmental protection is one of the main policy areas of the Government, Mr Tam said that this award-winning project showcases the Government's dedication in preserving the environment and in making Hong Kong a more liveable city.
