Fatal traffic accident in Tsing Yi

     Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Tsing Yi last night (December 5) in which a 25-year-old man died.

     At about 8pm, a motorcycle driven by a 25-year-old man was travelling along Kwai Fuk Road towards Kwai Chung, while a light goods vehicle (LGV) driven by a 34-year-old man was travelling along Kwai Fuk Road towards Tsuen Wan. When approaching near the junction of Kwai Fuk Road and Shing Fuk Street, the two vehicles reportedly collided.

     Sustaining injuries to his head and arm, the motorcyclist was rushed to Yan Chai Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 8.26pm yesterday.

     The LGV driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is being detained for enquiries.

     Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories South is underway.
