Symposium on "Partnership with Our Community"

     The Hong Kong Police Force in collaboration with the Centre for Criminology, The University of Hong Kong successfully held a symposium at Police Headquarters today (November 30).

     Carrying the theme “Partnership with Our Community”, the symposium aims to enhance mutual understanding and strengthen the relationship between the Force and the academia; to increase interaction and dialogue on contemporary issues in policing; and to develop collaborative exchange between the police and the scholarly community in the long term.

     More than 200 participants, including police officers and academics from local tertiary institutions attended the event, at which participants took the opportunity to examine the implications on contemporary issues in policing in Hong Kong.

     During the symposium, a number of distinguished speakers shared their experience and insights on “Effective Community Engagement” and “Insights from Survey”.

     A range of selected community-policing related topics were also discussed, including “Police Survey Strategy”, “Use of Social Media”, “Generation Gap Issues” and “Legitimacy and Support”.
