Hong Kong Arts Development Council nomination exercise 2016 polling results

     The exercise to nominate representatives of arts interests for the Hong Kong Arts Development Council (HKADC) 2016 ended yesterday (November 28). Of the 5,863 registered voters, 2,456 turned out to vote for their representatives. The voter turnout rate was 41.9 per cent, representing an eight per cent increase over the figure in the previous exercise.

     After the completion of polling at 10pm yesterday, ballots were counted and the following candidates received the highest number of votes and were returned in the six contested arts interests:

     As there was only one candidate standing for nomination in each of the following four arts interests, no polling was conducted for these arts interests and the following candidates were returned uncontested:

Lo Wai-luk (Arts Criticism)
Leung Sung-yum (Arts Education)
Ellen Pau (Film Arts)
Se-To Yok (Chinese Opera (Xiqu))

     The list of nominated representatives will be submitted to the Chief Executive for consideration of appointment to the HKADC for the next term commencing January 1, 2017.
