************************************************************************
The Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs, Mr Raymond Tam, started his visit to Hangzhou today (November 23) to strengthen ties with the local government and foster co-operation and exchanges between the two places.

Upon arrival in the afternoon, Mr Tam met with the Vice-Governor of Zhejiang Province, Ms Liang Liming, to exchange views on enhancing co-operation between Hong Kong and Zhejiang.

During the meeting, Mr Tam said that Hong Kong, with its mature services sector and a large pool of professionals familiar with international practices, could provide support for Zhejiang's further development and assist its enterprises in using Hong Kong as their platform to "go global" and develop overseas markets.

He also mentioned that the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government would set up a Liaison Unit in Hangzhou before mid-2017 to promote closer links between the two places.

Mr Tam then visited the Qianjiang CBD in Hangzhou to learn about the latest developments of the municipality. He will also take the opportunity this evening to meet with Hong Kong people doing business in Hangzhou to understand more about their business and life there.
