Fatal traffic accident in Lok Ma Chau

     Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Lok Ma Chau this afternoon  (November 19) in which a six-year-old boy died.

     At about 1.39pm, a light goods vehicle (LGV) driven by a 66-year-old man was travelling along Castle Peak Road - San Tin towards Yuen Long. When right turning into Tung Wing On Road, it reportedly knocked down a 51-year-old man and his six-year-old son who were crossing the road.

     Sustaining serious head injuries, the boy was rushed to North District Hospital in unconscious state where he was certified dead at 2.31pm. The 51-year-old man sustained lower body injuries and was sent to North District Hospital in conscious state.

     Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North is underway.
