Development Bureau's statement

At a joint meeting of the Legislative Council (LegCo) Panel on Housing and Panel on Development held at the LegCo Complex on November 15, a folder placed on the bench by the Under Secretary for Development, Mr Eric Ma, was grabbed by LegCo member Mr Leung Kwok-hung. Mr Leung subsequently passed the folder to LegCo member Mr Chu Hoi-dick to read the confidential documents in the folder without the permission of Mr Ma. In view of the seriousness of the incident, Mr Ma reported the case to the Police today (November 17).

A spokesman for the Development Bureau condemned and expressed deep regret over the behaviour of the two LegCo members.
