Fatal traffic accident in Tuen Mun

At about 1.48pm, a school bus driven by a 69-year-old man was travelling along Castle Peak Road – Lam Tei towards Tuen Mun. When approaching near Lam Tei Main Street, it reportedly collided with a private car and a light goods vehicle which were parked at the roadside and then knocked down the 56-year-old woman who was crossing the road.
The woman was trapped under the school bus and was rescued by firemen. Sustaining serious head injuries, she was rushed to Tuen Mun Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 1.59pm.
The driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is required to report back to Police in mid-November.
Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North is underway.
