Fatal traffic accident in Yuen Long

At about 6.20am, a motorcycle driven by the 36-year-old man was travelling eastbound along Castle Peak Road - Yuen Long, while a public light bus (PLB) driven by a 53-year-old man was travelling westbound along Castle Peak Road - Yuen Long. When approaching Long Yat Road, the motorcycle reportedly collided with the PLB.
Sustaining serious head injuries, the motorcyclist was rushed to Pok Oi Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 7.10am.
The PLB driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death. He is being detained for enquiries.
Investigation by the Accident Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North is underway.
