"Bamboo is Exquisite" exhibition launched at Amoy Plaza
*******************************************************

The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) launched a roving exhibition entitled "Bamboo is Exquisite" today (November 15) at Amoy Plaza. Running at Amoy Plaza until November 28, the exhibition reveals the elegant and exquisite settings of the homes of rulers and the literati in ancient China, and features several illustrative bamboo-related antiquities from the collections of the Palace Museum and the Hong Kong Museum of Art.

The exhibition is being held at the 1/F Exhibition Area in Phase 1 of Amoy Plaza (opposite Shop F46) with opening hours from 11am to 10pm. Members of the public are welcome to visit.

The roving exhibition is part of the "In Touch with Palace Museum" programme being held by the LCSD from the end of 2016 to mid-2017. Through a series of exhibitions and educational activities related to the arts and culture of the Palace Museum, the programme highlights the essence of traditional Chinese culture and its modern connotations, as well as the significant and unique roles played by Hong Kong and the Palace Museum in the conservation of historical relics, allowing members of the public to discover that, far being anachronistic or outmoded, traditional culture still holds a wealth of wisdom for daily lives.
