CE to attend APEC meeting in Peru

     The Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, will leave for Peru on November 17 to attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) 2016 Leaders' Week.
 
     The theme of this year's meeting is "Quality Growth and Human Development" with four priorities: advancing regional economic integration and quality growth; enhancing the regional food market; promoting the modernisation of micro, small and medium enterprises in the Asia-Pacific; and developing human capital.
 
     The Chief Executive will attend the APEC CEO Summit on November 19, during which President Xi Jinping will deliver a speech. Mr Leung will also attend the APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting and the APEC Business Advisory Council Dialogue, and meet with leaders of other economies to exchange views on issues of mutual concern.
 
     The Chief Executive will return to Hong Kong around noon on November 22. During Mr Leung's absence, the Chief Secretary for Administration, Mrs Carrie Lam, will be Acting Chief Executive.
