SCED to visit Israel and Peru

     The Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Gregory So, will leave Hong Kong tomorrow (November 14) for duty visits to Jerusalem and Tel Aviv in Israel and Lima in Peru from November 15 to 19. During the visits, Mr So will promote Hong Kong's bilateral relations with Israel and attend the 28th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Ministerial Meeting (AMM) in Lima.
 
     Mr So will visit Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, Israel, on November 15 (Israel time), where he will meet with Israeli government officials and start-up entrepreneurs and call on the Chinese Embassy in Israel. He will leave for Lima, Peru, on November 16 to attend the 28th AMM on November 17 and 18 (Lima time).
 
     Under the theme of the meeting "Quality Growth and Human Development", Mr So will join other ministers to discuss four priorities, namely "Advancing Regional Economic Integration and Quality Growth", "Enhancing the Regional Food Market", "Promoting the Modernization of MSMEs (Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises) in the Asia-Pacific" and "Developing Human Capital".
 
     On the sidelines of the AMM, Mr So will take the opportunity to meet with the trade ministers of other member economies to exchange views on issues of mutual concern.
 
     Mr So will return to Hong Kong on November 20. The Under Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Godfrey Leung, will be the Acting Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development during Mr So's absence.
