LD to hold occupational health public talks

     The Labour Department (LD) will hold a public talk entitled "Occupational Stress" on November 14 (Monday). To promote employees' awareness of the issue, the talk will introduce the signs and symptoms of occupational stress and how occupational stress may affect employees' health. Coping strategies will also be discussed through case illustrations.

     The talk will be held at 3pm in Activity Room 1, Hong Kong Central Library, 66 Causeway Road, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong. The LD's Occupational Health Nurse will give the talk.
 
     The LD will hold another talk entitled "Manual Handling Operations and Prevention of Back Injuries for Workers of Residential Care Homes for the Elderly" on November 23 (Wednesday). The talk will briefly explain the structure and function of the back, as well as the causes of back injuries and preventive measures. Discussions on proper manual handling operations and demonstrations of workplace exercises will also be included.
 
     The talk will be held at 2.30pm at Fanling Occupational Health Clinic, 7/F, Fanling Health Centre, 2 Pik Fung Road, Fanling, New Territories. The LD's Occupational Health Nurse will give the talk.
 
     The talks will be conducted in Cantonese. Admission is free.
