CE meets Deputy Federal Chancellor and Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy of the Federal Republic of Germany (with photo)

     The Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, met the visiting Deputy Federal Chancellor and Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy of the Federal Republic of Germany, Mr Sigmar Gabriel, at the Chief Executive's Office this evening (November 4) to exchange views on issues of mutual concern.

     The Chief Executive said that Hong Kong and Germany enjoy close economic and trade ties. As an international financial centre, Hong Kong can act as a "super-connector" for German enterprises to connect with the markets in the Mainland of China and in Asia. He also said he hoped that the two places can continue to strengthen exchanges and co-operation on various fronts so as to explore more business opportunities by leveraging Hong Kong's huge development potential in the country's Belt and Road Initiative.
