SFST and SCED to visit Beijing

     The Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury, Professor K C Chan, and the Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Gregory So, will leave for Beijing on November 2 to represent the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government to attend the opening ceremony of the 20th Beijing-Hong Kong Economic Co-operation Symposium in the morning on the next day (November 3).

     In the afternoon on November 3, Professor Chan will give a keynote speech at the Beijing-Hong Kong Financial Services Co-operation Forum. Mr So will also attend a symposium on promoting investment relating to the Belt and Road Initiative.

     While in Beijing, Professor Chan will have meetings with the Chairman of Export-Import Bank of China, Ms Hu Xiaolian, and the Administrator of the State Administration of Foreign Exchange, Mr Pan Gongsheng. Mr So will meet with representatives from Hong Kong's industrial and commercial sectors attending the Symposium.

     Professor Chan and Mr So will return to Hong Kong in the evening on November 3. During their absence, their respective Under Secretaries will be the Acting Directors of Bureaux.
