18 Districts Rope Skipping Competition showcases youthful vigour (with photos)

     Youths of the 18 districts showed their skills and strived for honour at the 18 Districts Rope Skipping Competition today (October 30) at Tiu Keng Leng Sports Centre.
 
     Organised by the Youth Programme Co-ordinating Committee (YPCC) under the Commission on Youth and co-organised by the Home Affairs Department and the District Youth Programme Committees of the 18 districts, the competition was one of the major territory-wide youth programmes of the year.
 
     The competition was district-based, with one secondary school team and one primary school team joining from each of the 18 districts.
 
     In addition, the Hong Kong Rope Skipping Delegation, which won many medals at the World Rope Skipping Championships in Sweden this year, was invited to give demonstrations and exchange skills with the youths so they could spread positive energy together.

     The guests presenting awards at the competition included the Director of Home Affairs, Miss Janice Tse; the Deputy Director of Home Affairs, Mr Patrick Li; and the Convenor of the YPCC, Mr Jonathan Chan.
 
     A champion, a first runner-up, a second runner-up, three merit awards, a best teamwork award, a most creative routine award and a most dynamic performance award were selected for the primary school and secondary school sections. The results are shown as follows:
