LD to hold occupational health public talks

     The Labour Department (LD) will hold a public talk entitled "Prevention of Lower Limb Disorders" on November 3 (Thursday). The talk will introduce symptoms of common lower limb disorders such as plantar fasciitis, varicose veins and osteoarthritis of the knee, their treatment and preventive measures. Demonstrations of workplace exercise will be included.

     The talk will be held at 6.30pm in Activity Room 1, Hong Kong Central Library, 66 Causeway Road, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong. The LD's Occupational Health Nurse will give the talk.
 
     The LD will hold another talk entitled "Shift Work and Occupational Health" on November 9 (Wednesday). The talk will discuss the occupational safety and health effects of shift work on employees. Some appropriate preventive measures, which could be taken in making shift arrangements or during work shifts to protect employees' occupational health, will also be introduced.
 
     The talk will be held at 3pm in the Lecture Hall, Hong Kong Space Museum, 10 Salisbury Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon. The LD's Occupational Health Nurse will give the talk.
 
     The talks will be conducted in Cantonese. Admission is free.
