CFS computers suspected to be hacked

     The Centre for Food Safety (CFS) of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department today (October 25) said that two computers in the Man Kam To Food Control Office were suspected to be hacked, and the operation of the two computers were suspended immediately. The CFS is assessing the impact of the incident and will take appropriate follow-up actions.

     A spokesman for the CFS said, "We are very concerned about the incident. The CFS has reported the case to the Police and the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer, and is assisting the Police's investigation. We have stepped up computer security measures and reminded our staff to stay alert against computer viruses so as to prevent recurrence of similar incidents."
