Public invited to watch 18 Districts Rope Skipping Competition
**************************************************************
The 18 Districts Rope Skipping Competition, organised by the Youth Programme Co-ordinating Committee (YPCC) through the Home Affairs Department (HAD), will be held at the multi-purpose arena of Tiu Keng Leng Sports Centre from 10am to 1pm and 3pm to 6pm on October 30. Members of the public are invited to watch the competition and enjoy the youthful and energetic atmosphere.

Rope skipping is not only good for participants' health, but also enhances their team spirit and develops their perseverance, self-confidence and attentiveness, which can help them develop positive values towards life.

The competition is district-based, with one secondary school team and one primary school team coming from each of the 18 districts. Apart from competing for champion, first runner-up, second runner-up and merit awards, the participants will also vie for the best teamwork, most creative routine and most dynamic performance awards.

To add colour to the event, the organiser has invited the Hong Kong Rope Skipping Delegation, who won many medals in the World Rope Skipping Championships in Sweden this year, to demonstrate and exchange skills with the youths so they can spread positive energy together.

Organised by the YPCC under the Commission on Youth and co-organised by the HAD and the District Youth Programme Committees of the 18 districts, the competition is one of the major territory-wide youth programmes of the year.

Free tickets for the competition will be available tomorrow (October 25) at the Home Affairs Enquiry Centres on a first-come, first-served basis while stocks last. Each person can obtain a maximum of two tickets. For enquiries, please call 2835 1546 during office hours.
