SCS and delegation of Permanent Secretaries and Heads of Departments continue visit to Chongqing (with photos)

     The Secretary for the Civil Service, Mr Clement Cheung, leading a delegation of Permanent Secretaries and Heads of Departments of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, continued the visit to Chongqing today (October 20).

     In the morning, the delegation visited a local community, and toured an automobile engineering institute to learn more about the latest developments of the local automobile industry.

     In the afternoon, the delegation toured the Chongqing Liangjiang New Area Planning Exhibition Hall to get an update on its situation and future developments. They then visited some high-tech enterprises in the city.

     The delegation will continue their visit to Chongqing tomorrow (October 21). In the morning, they will visit a state-owned transport enterprise to better understand the railway developments in the city, and visit a cross-border e-commerce enterprise.

     In the afternoon, the delegation will visit Chongqing Logistics City to learn more about the planning and operation of the starting point of the Yuxinou (Chongqing-Xinjiang-Europe) freight railway. They will also tour the Ci Qi Kou Porcelain Village, a historical and cultural site under special protection in Chongqing.

     On October 22, the delegation will visit the Dazu Rock Carvings, a World Heritage Site since 1999, to better understand the local protection and development of heritage sites. In the evening, they will depart Chongqing for Hong Kong.
