SCS and delegation of Permanent Secretaries and Heads of Departments commence visit to Chongqing (with photos)

     The Secretary for the Civil Service, Mr Clement Cheung, leading a delegation of Permanent Secretaries and Heads of Departments of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government departed for Chongqing this morning (October 19) after concluding their advanced national studies and visit programme in Beijing.

     On arrival in the afternoon, the delegation visited the Chongqing China Three Gorges Museum. They then met with the Mayor of Chongqing, Mr Huang Qifan, and attended a seminar to learn more about the economic and social developments of Chongqing and its role in the Belt and Road Initiative.

     Continuing their visit in Chongqing tomorrow (October 20), the delegation will visit a local community and tour an automobile engineering institute to learn more about the latest developments of the local automobile industry.

     The delegation will also tour the Chongqing Liangjiang New Area Planning Exhibition Hall to get an update on its latest situation and future developments. The delegation will also visit some high-tech enterprises in the city later.
