Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Tseung Kwan O in the small hours of today (October 17) in which a 38-year-old man was killed.

     At about 0.02am, a private car driven by the 38-year-old man was travelling along northbound Tai Au Mun Road while a private car driven by a 29-year-old man was traveling along southbound Tai Au Mun Road. When approaching Po Toi O Chuen Road, the two vehicles reportedly collided.

     The two drivers and a 26-year-old male passenger were trapped inside the compartments and rescued by firemen. Sustaining multiple injuries, the 38-year-old driver was rushed to Tseung Kwan O Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 1.57am. Another private car driver and his passenger were sent to Queen Elizabeth Hospital and Tseung Kwan O Hospital in conscious state respectively.

     Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon East is underway.
