Dangerous driving causing death case in Tsim Sha Tsui

     Police are investigating a dangerous driving causing death case in Tsim Sha Tsui on October 12 in which a 30-year-old man died.

     At about 6.10 am, Police received a report that a 30-year-old man was found injured outside 21 Ashley Road in Tsim Sha Tsui. Police sped to scene and the man, who sustained head injuries, was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in unconscious state. He was certified dead at 1.34pm today (October 14).

     Upon investigation, it was believed the man was knocked down by a private car. Three men, aged 22 to 32, were later arrested on October 12 evening for assisting offenders in Tsim Sha Tsui and Ngau Tau Kok respectively. Initial enquiries revealed that the three arrested persons had made false statements to Police with intent to obstruct Police to arrest other suspects.

     The three arrested men have been holding charged with one count of assisting offender with intent to impede his apprehension or prosecution respectively, and they will appear before Kowloon City Magistrates’ Courts tomorrow (October 15).

     Investigations by the District Crime Squad of Yau Tsim District are underway.
