Apart from their clinics, enrolled doctors can also organise outreach vaccination activities to primary schools to provide pupils with better protection for the influenza season. Active participation and collaboration between the medical sector and schools are key to raising the vaccination coverage.
To date, 107 doctors have indicated their interest in providing outreach activities, while 36 primary schools have planned to arrange outreach activities with enrolled doctors. The list of doctors is available online ( for schools' easy reference.
"We have been working closely with the medical profession, the education sector including primary schools and parent groups, the social welfare sector including institutions and organisations serving the elderly and disabled, and community partners. Briefings to relevant stakeholders were held prior to the launch," a spokesman for the CHP said.
The Government Vaccination Programme (free vaccination) will be rolled out in phases early next month and details will be announced in due course.
"We again strongly appeal to the public for early vaccination amid increased influenza activity," the spokesman added.
