CE to attend 2016 Pan-Pearl River Delta Regional Co-operation Chief Executive Joint Conference in Nanchang

     The Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, will leave for Nanchang, Jiangxi Province, in the afternoon on October 13 to attend the 2016 Pan-Pearl River Delta (PPRD) Regional Co-operation Chief Executive Joint Conference (Joint Conference).

     Mr Leung will have bilateral meetings with some of the Mainland's provincial leaders upon arrival. The following day, he will attend the Joint Conference with the chief executives of nine Mainland provinces/autonomous regions and the Macau Special Administrative Region. He will also join a consultative meeting for PPRD provinces/regions and central authorities.

     The Chief Executive will be accompanied by the Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs, Mr Raymond Tam; the Secretary for Development, Mr Paul Chan; the Secretary for Innovation and Technology, Mr Nicholas W Yang; the Director of the Chief Executive's Office, Mr Edward Yau; the Permanent Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs, Ms Chang King-yiu; the Permanent Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development (Commerce, Industry and Tourism), Mr Philip Yung; and the Commissioner for Belt and Road, Miss Yvonne Choi.

     The Chief Executive will return to Hong Kong in the evening on October 14. During his absence, the Chief Secretary for Administration, Mrs Carrie Lam, will be the Acting Chief Executive.
