The Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, met the visiting Acting Vice-Chancellor of Karolinska Institutet (KI) from Sweden, Professor Karin Dahlman-Wright, at Government House this evening (October 6) to exchange views on issues of mutual concern.

The Chief Executive wishes the Ming Wai Lau Centre for Reparative Medicine a successful opening tomorrow- the first centre set up by KI overseas. Mr Leung said that KI is a world-class medical university and research institution which has been working closely with local universities in medical research and student exchange programmes. He is confident that the establishment of the centre in Hong Kong can promote regenerative medicine and stem cell research as well as the development of innovation and technology in Hong Kong.
