Hong Kong Customs seizes suspected methamphetamine (with photo)

     Hong Kong Customs yesterday (October 5) seized about 1 kilogram of suspected methamphetamine with a market value of about $360,000 at Lok Ma Chau Spur Line Control Point and arrested a man.
 
     Customs officers yesterday evening intercepted an incoming passenger at Lok Ma Chau Spur Line Control Point and found about 1 kilogram of suspected methamphetamine inside his suitcase and travelling bag.
 
     The arrested man was 70 years old and claimed to be unemployed. The case is still under investigation.
 
     Under the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, trafficking in a dangerous drug is a serious offence. The maximum penalty is life imprisonment and a fine of $5 million.
