The Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Gregory So, met with Singapore’s Minister for Trade and Industry, Mr Lim Hng Kiang, in Singapore today (October 4) to discuss the progress of the Hong Kong, China - ASEAN Free Trade Agreement (FTA) negotiations.

     At the meeting, Mr So exchanged views with Mr Lim on the Hong Kong, China - ASEAN FTA negotiations and emphasised the importance of the FTA in strengthening economic ties between Hong Kong and ASEAN by facilitating the flow of goods, services and investments.

     Mr So also took the opportunity to update Mr Lim on Hong Kong's latest developments and to promote bilateral exchanges.

     Mr So will depart for the Philippines in the evening to meet with its trade minister tomorrow (October 5).
