Fatal traffic accident in Lantau North

At about 12.15pm, a 40-year-old man was riding a bicycle along Discovery Valley Road towards Discovery Bay Road, while a 44-year-old man was driving a coach along Discovery Valley Road towards Bijou Drive. When approaching a lamp post, the bicycle reportedly collided with the coach.
Sustaining serious head injury, the 40-year-old cyclist was rushed to North Lantau Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 2.03pm.
Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories South is underway.
