Police appeal for information on fatal traffic accident in Yau Ma Tei

     Police today (September 27) appealed to the public for information on a fatal traffic accident in Yau Ma Tei on September 24 in which a 68-year-old man died.

     At about 3.55pm on that day, a taxi driven by a 63-year-old man was travelling along westbound Jordan Road. When reaching the junction with Nathan Road, it reportedly knocked down the 68-year-old man who was crossing the road.

     Sustaining serious head injuries, the male pedestrian was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 7.44pm on the same day.

     The taxi driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm after the accident. He has been released on bail pending further enquiries and is required to report back to Police in mid-October.

     Active investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West is underway.
