Fatal traffic accident in Mong Kok

At about 9.10am, a medium goods vehicle (MGV) driven by a 34-year-old man was travelling along Mong Kok Road eastbound. When approaching near Reclamation Street, it reportedly knocked down the 78-year-old woman who was crossing the road.
Sustaining serious injuries to the lower part of her body, the woman was rushed to Kwong Wah Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 9.25am.
The driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death. He has been released on bail pending further enquiries and is required to report back to Police in late October.
Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West is underway.
