**********************************************
The Secretary for the Civil Service, Mr Clement Cheung, visited Wong Tai Sin District today (September 26) to get an update on developments in the district and to meet with Wong Tai Sin District Council members.

Accompanied by the District Officer (Wong Tai Sin), Mrs Angel Choi, Mr Cheung first met with Wong Tai Sin District Council Chairman, Mr Li Tak-hong, and other District Council members to learn about the overall development of the district and exchange views on various district issues.

Mr Cheung then visited the Chinese Rhenish Church Hong Kong Synod Choi Wan Rhenish Integrated Children and Youth Services Centre. The Centre provides a wide range of services including children and youth centre services, youth outreach services, family life educational services and school supporting services to meet the multifarious needs of children and young people aged 6 to 24. Inside the Centre, Mr Cheung visited the child care service room and saw students doing their homework. At a meeting he also learned how teenage volunteers organise community services and make logistical preparations.

Before concluding his visit, Mr Cheung met with some ethnic minority families to better understand their lives in Hong Kong. The person-in-charge also briefed Mr Cheung on the services and activities offered by the Centre to help ethnic minorities integrate into the community.
