SEN to chair fifth meeting of Hong Kong/Guangdong Joint Liaison Group on Combating Climate Change in Guangzhou tomorrow

     The Secretary for the Environment, Mr Wong Kam-sing, will lead a delegation of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government to depart for Guangzhou tomorrow morning (September 27) where he will co-chair the fifth meeting of the Hong Kong/Guangdong Joint Liaison Group on Combating Climate Change (JLGCCC) with the Director of the Guangdong Development and Reform Commission, Mr He Ningka.

     The delegation will be comprised of representatives from the Environment Bureau, Environmental Protection Department, Civil Engineering and Development Department, Drainage Services Department, Department of Health, Hong Kong Observatory, Transport Department and the Water Supplies Department.

     At the meeting, both sides will outline the work on combating climate change and discuss the workplans of the two working groups set up under the JLGCCC. 

     Mr Wong will return to Hong Kong tomorrow afternoon after the meeting.
