Theatre Space to perform Cantonese musical comedy "Nunsensations!"
******************************************************************
Theatre Space will stage its latest Cantonese musical comedy "Nunsensations!" in November. Audiences can expect plenty of the group's familiar banter, songs and gags.

This witty production is adapted from Dan Goggin's play of the same title. Five nuns who intend to live in seclusion on the island of Hei Ling Chau receive an invitation from a converted Macanese loan shark, who wants the sisters to go to Macau and take part in an evangelist production in a casino. After various internal struggles and prayers, the Reverend Mother believes they have received a message of "no objection" from the Lord, and they decide to take part in the performance. The five sisters resort to all kinds of tactics and show their best moves in the spotlight – and their songs, dances and stand-up jokes will be played alongside interactive games with prizes, providing extra entertainment for the audience.

"Nunsensations!" is directed by Jacob Yu, with Cantonese lyrics and translation by Szeto Wai-kin. A skilled quintet comprising Mandy Yiu, Margaret Cheung, Bei Fung, Ivy Lau and Soraya Chau will play the Reverend Mother and the nuns. The Reverend Mother is an eager performer with serious looks; Sister Kwok sings a different tune but has a great rapport with the Reverend Mother; Sister Ng is the diva who has intermittent loss of memory; Sister Lee has always dreamed of preaching through ballet; and finally there is Sister Law, whose dream of stardom hasn't yet materialised.
