S for IT to visit Germany

     The Secretary for Innovation and Technology, Mr Nicholas W Yang, will leave for Frankfurt on Monday night (September 26) for a three-day visit to Germany from September 27 to 29 to attend the flagship overseas promotion programme "Think Asia, Think Hong Kong" organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC).

     On arrival in Frankfurt on September 27, Mr Yang will visit a leading institute for applied research in visual computing. He will also attend the "Think Asia, Think Hong Kong" Gala Dinner. On September 28 and 29, Mr Yang will take part in the HKTDC Technology Mission to visit innovation and technology enterprises in Bayreuth and Amberg to learn more about the latest technological and industrial developments there.

     At a technology seminar co-organised by the HKTDC and the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation as part of "Think Asia, Think Hong Kong" in Munich on September 29, Mr Yang will speak on the vibrant ecosystem for the development of innovation and technology in Hong Kong and the multifaceted competitive advantages that Hong Kong can offer to German enterprises, especially opportunities for collaboration in Hong Kong's re-industrialisation.

     Mr Yang will depart Munich on Thursday night (September 29) and arrive in Hong Kong on Friday afternoon (September 30). In his absence, the Under Secretary for Innovation and Technology, Dr David Chung, will act as Secretary for Innovation and Technology.
