LD holds occupational health public talks

     The Labour Department (LD) will hold a public talk entitled "Manual Handling Operations and Prevention of Back Injuries" on September 23 (Friday). The talk will introduce causes of and preventive measures for back injuries, as well as proper manual handling operations.

     The talk will be held at 6.30pm in Activity Room 1, Hong Kong Central Library, 66 Causeway Road, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong. The LD's Occupational Health Nurse and Occupational Hygienist will give the talk.

     The LD will hold another talk entitled "Work and Common Gastrointestinal Diseases" on September 29 (Thursday). The talk will introduce some common gastrointestinal diseases, their causes, symptoms and treatments. It will also highlight the mutual influence between work and common gastrointestinal diseases, and preventive measures to promote employees' occupational health.

     The talk will be held at 2.30pm at the Fanling Occupational Health Clinic, 7/F, Fanling Health Centre, 2 Pik Fung Road, Fanling, New Territories. The LD's Occupational Health Nurse will give the talk.

     The talks will be conducted in Cantonese. Admission is free.
