******************************************************
The Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, met the visiting Prime Minister of Vietnam, Mr Nguyen Xuan Phuc, today (September 15) to exchange views on issues of mutual concern.

Mr Leung briefed Mr Nguyen on the latest developments in Hong Kong. He thanked Vietnam for supporting the negotiation on the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN)-Hong Kong Free Trade Agreement and said he looked forward to its early conclusion.

The Chief Executive said that the country's Belt and Road Initiative would bring about enormous development potential for Hong Kong and ASEAN countries such as Vietnam. By capitalising on its dual advantages of "one country" and "two systems", Hong Kong would further enhance the economic and trade relations with Vietnam and other major trading partners along the Belt and Road.
