CE congratulates Hong Kong wheelchair fencing team on winning Rio Paralympic Games medal

     The Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, today (September 14) congratulated the Hong Kong wheelchair fencing team on winning a Rio 2016 Paralympic Games medal.

     Chan Yui-chong scored a bronze in the women’s individual epee (category B) event.

     Mr Leung said, "With her exceptional skills, Chan Yui-chong has triumphed in the competition. Chan won a medal in the same category for the fourth consecutive Games. Her perseverance is admirable.”

     The Acting Secretary for Home Affairs, Ms Florence Hui, also extended congratulations to Chan. She said she hoped that the members of the Hong Kong team would keep up their efforts and strive for excellence in the coming events.

     The Hong Kong delegation has so far won three medals comprising one gold and two bronze at the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games.
