Fatal traffic accident in Tuen Mun

At about 2.45pm, two light goods vehicles (LGV) driven respectively by a 34-year-old man and a 46-year-old man were travelling in sequence along Yuen Long Highway towards Yuen Long. When reaching near Tsoi Yuen Tsuen, the front LGV reportedly stopped due to mechanical failure. The following LGV failed to brake and collided with the front LGV.
The following LGV driver was trapped inside the compartment and rescued by firemen. Sustaining serious multiple injuries, the driver was rushed to Tuen Mun Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 3.32pm.
Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North is underway.
