Appeal for information on abandoned girl (with photo)

     Police are anxious to locate the next-of-kin of a girl who was found abandoned in Sheung Shui today (September 1).

     At about 5pm today, Police received a report that a girl was found abandoned outside a carpark in Choi Yuen Estate, Sheung Shui.

     The girl is believed to be eight years old. She is about 1.2 metres tall and of thin build. She has a pointed face with yellow complexion and short black hair. She wore a round neck T-shirt with blue and white stripes, dark brown shorts and black shoes. No identity document was found.

     The girl, sustaining no apparent injuries, was admitted to Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital for observation.

     Investigations by officers of Tai Po District are underway.
