Fatal traffic accident in Sau Mau Ping

At about 4.35pm, a private car driven by a 43-year-old man was turning right into Ngau Tau Kok Road westbound from Lotus Towers. It reportedly knocked down the 19-year-old man who was crossing the road.
Sustaining serious head and chest injuries, the man was rushed to Kwong Wah Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 6.09pm.
The driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death. He is being detained for enquiries.
Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon East is underway.
